NO APRIL FOOL'S TRICK - April Fool's Day Possible Virus Attack

Image
I came across plurk messages of friends downloading antivirus. I was not aware of the April Fool's possible virus attack news that came up several days ago. Well I might take a fast of my internet browsing then tomorrow... So folks be careful with your internet browsing just the same... So I am posting here links about those news: March 24, 2009 -- Updated 1215 GMT (2015 HKT) No joke in April Fool's Day computer worm (CNN) -- A computer-science detective story is playing out on the Internet as security experts try to hunt down a worm called Conficker C and prevent it from damaging millions of computers on April Fool's Day. The anti-worm researchers have banded together in a group they call the Conficker Cabal. Members are searching for the malicious software program's author and for ways to do damage control if he or she can't be stopped. They're motivated in part by a $250,000 bounty from Microsoft and also by what seems to be a sort of Dick Tracy ethic. "

COMSOFIL and Project Help Twitch

I started blogging in 2004 when I was an OFW (Overseas Filipino Worker) in Saudi Arabia. A mixed of boredom, anxiety and anger made me blog. Aside from writing journal I learned to blog and mostly pictures in the beginning. I was supposed to go back home after my 2 year contract expired but we were forced to stay and finish the project for another 5 months. I was so nostalgic of home, family and friends. Yet I and my co-workers got extended and exploited by the company with a 4-5 months delayed release of salary. Indeed it was harsher than a Saharan winter and the onslaught of sandstorm ushering in an oven hot temperature of summer. My saving grace was COMSOFIL (Computer Society of Filipinos – International) for the opportunity to do volunteer work. COMSOFIL offers computer classes to OFWs in Riyadh (it has now branched out to other Cities of KSA ). I had a chance to help conduct a class, take minutes of the board meeting, served as a speech writer of two of its president. We had p

Lucinda Matlock by Edgar Lee Master

It is not uncommon for my blog to appear on google search for the words - love+life, well my blog posts are stories of my life and others and definitely it features my passion and love for life. So adding to the tome of my entries on love and life is a poem by Edgar Lee Masters below: Edgar Lee Masters (1868–1950). Spoon River Anthology. 1916. 207. Lucinda Matlock I WENT to the dances at Chandlerville, And played snap-out at Winchester. One time we changed partners, Driving home in the moonlight of middle June, And then I found Davis. 5 We were married and lived together for seventy years, Enjoying, working, raising the twelve children, Eight of whom we lost Ere I had reached the age of sixty. I spun, I wove, I kept the house, I nursed the sick, 10 I made the garden, and for holiday Rambled over the fields where sang the larks, And by Spoon River gathering many a shell, And many a flower and medicinal weed— Shouting to the wooded hills, singing to the green v

Ilocos Norte and Pagudpud

Image
If the omnipresence of grand houses among the rice fields of Ilocos Norte is an indication of progress then I can consider it as a good sign. But I would suppose that those beautiful houses are owned by the Hawaiinos (Ilocano immigrants of Hawaii) or OFWs. Since the few of the prominent elite families belong to the region’s political dynasties. It is sad to note that hardly would you find an ATM machines or commercial banks along the highways and main poblacions of Pagudpud, Bangui and Burgos. I saw in Pasuquin a PNB ATM machine. It is such an inconvenience to travelers who would prefer using their cards instead of cash. As consequence the resorts and restaurants of Pagudpud does not have facilities for credit cards. This limit a traveler’s period of stay once cash runs out. Pasuquin or Laoag would be an hour or two to travel. Visiting those beautiful places and attractions in the northern tip of Ilocos is a transport challenge for individuals or groups without t

Presscon: Playboy Philippines March 2009 Issue

View Album Get your own Tamed bunnies were on the loose at Sulo Hotel for a presscon of Playboy Philippines. Young and very sweet models graced March 2009 issue. Present at the presscon were cover girl Sara Polverini, an Italian-Pinay mix very matured looking on the cover but at the presscon she looks radiantly youngish and adorable and centerfold girl Jessie Medina, dazzling and gorgeous both on paper and peeled-off the paper. Compared to other Playboy mag in other countries the Philippine issue would be considered prudish. Its managing editor Mikhail Lecaros maintained that the mag is classy, tasteful and artsy in nature. Add to that literary, several pinoy great writers contribute to the mag following a tradition. The second installment of Ricky Lee’s first novel Para kay B is featured for its fiction selections. Aside from the usual lifestyle and entertainment pages, the Playboy Forum tackles hot issues (well not what you think, that should be a regular fare, right?), am referri
