BlogRush Is Shutting Down

Sharing info to those who have patronized BlogRush. I like their positive tone which I quoted below: Last but not least I want to say that I hope the failure of this service doesn't in any way discourage other entrepreneurs from coming up with crazy ideas at 4AM (like I did with this one) and from "going for it" to just try and see if something will work. Without trying there can be no success. And as we all know, ideas are worthless without action. The Web wouldn't be what it is today without entrepreneurs trying all sorts of crazy ideas. On behalf of the entire BlogRush team, we wish the best of luck to everyone with their own blogs, ideas, and crazy ventures. See you around folks... from BlogRush to Pete Rahon date Thu, Oct 30, 2008 at 1:19 PM subject BlogRush Is Shutting Down 1:19 PM (41 minutes ago) After careful consideration, we have decided to shutdown the BlogRush service. If you have the widget code on your blog you will need to remove it. When Blo

Another attempt at Nanowrimo . Well try and try until I succeed and accomplish a draft. Yes just a draft. Once again I am adorning this blog with the Nanowrimo emblem or logo, for the sheer fun of being part of it. And below is a funny and very enticing email from the indefatigable Chris Baty. To think that he is been doing this for the last 10 years, he deserve a prize for this. So this year I will try an erotic fiction and I will be writing in Taglish - that's Tagalog and English, maybe Ilocano too, let' see... Well, nurturing the spirit of my writerly aspirations... whatever that is! Here goes his email: Dear National Novel Writing Month Author , Hi there! NaNoWriMo Program Director Chris Baty here. Before we get rolling, I wanted to give you a quick guide to our upcoming five weeks of literary domination. Here's the plan: Today: Make a tax-deductible donation to help us pay for National Novel Writing Month. So far, we've received donations from 3.4% of our particip

Apostolic Nuncio Osvaldo Padilla Visits Gwangju

Image
(Finally a new entry after more than a month of blogging hiatus). Apostolic Nuncio Osvaldo Padilla visited Gwangju last 19 October 2008. I was so glad to have a chance to meet him face to face when told that he will visit the May 18 National Cemetery. Chris my colleague at The May 18 Memorial Foundation assisted in providing a tour at the cemetery. He was with the Archbishop and Monsignor of Gwangju during the tour. He was also brought to the May 18 National Cemetery Museu. He was impressed with what the Korean government had done to memorialize the heroes of May 18 and told Chris to keep remembering their noble deeds for democracy. Then in the afternoon, Archbishop Osvaldo Padilla co-celebrated the mass with Gwangju's Archbishop, Monsignor and several priests in Wolgokdong Church. He was also given a preview of the services and programs that the Catholic Church is providing the Filipino community (both migrant workers and the family of Filipinas married to Korean) in Gwangju. T
