Syndicating my own blog post

Syndicating my blog post from another blog. I have no time to blog these days so I will do an excerpt of blog post from another blog:
http://ofwbagongbayani.blogspot.com/2009/05/peba-and-abused-ofws.html

So here's an excerpt of another source of inspiration for which I am willing to multi-task, but good thing colleagues are so diligent enough to put into action decisions from online-discussions:

Definitely it is not a perfect world. So PEBA believes that there is HOPE, that OFW can still be gift to the world for his/her diligence and world class skills. I really look forward to that day that aside from awarding bloggers, Expats and OFW bloggers are united in addressing and helping prevent OFWs being abused and taken advantage. And also NGOs and other civil society groups and mostly the government, assist and provide the necessary services OFW truly they truly deserve. After all they remain pillars for the Philippine economy to survive.

PEBA will then award not only bloggers but also those who support and benefactors of those less fortunate OFWs.

Mabuhay PEBA!

Mabuhay ang uring migranteng manggagawa!

Aliw-iw Dance Forum 2009

(foto source - http://www.filipinobooks.com/copy1roa/_borders/folkdance_poster.JPG)

Aliw-iw Dance Forum 2009

Ito ay gaganapin sa: Hunyo 14, 2009 (Linggo)
3:00 PM - 6:00 PM
UP Sunken Garden

Nationwide Citizens Assemblies Clamor for Change Politics

Demanding an end to Filipino politics-as-usual, citizens raised their voices yesterday in unprecedented internet-linked simultaneous assemblies in ten (10) areas across the country. One year before the May 2010 elections, core members of the newly formed Change Politics Movement (CPM) from more than 38 provinces and cities converged in Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Butuan, Ormoc, Borongan, Mandaue, Dumaguete, Iloilo, Naga and Quezon City, and were linked by live video-streaming and cellular phone calls into one concerted clamor for change politics. The assemblies also served to launch CPM, which now has 2,000 core members.

“We need to take back politics from corrupt politicians and make it the sacred covenant it is meant to be, between leaders and their constituencies,” declared Dinky Soliman, one of the interim national convenors of CPM.

“Civil society has long participated in politics from the periphery --- remaining non-partisan, watching and waiting for reform as winning candidates take the reigns of power, only to be repeatedly frustrated. Not anymore. It is time for us ordinary people to actively engage ourselves and assert our right to choose leaders of integrity and accountability”, said Pepe Gasapo a community organizer and CPM leader in Mandaue City.

Jing Karaos, also an interim national convenor of CPM, added that “change politics is rooted in the participatory, people-driven nature of active citizenship”. Change politics is the practice of politics guided by the principles of transparency, honesty and integrity. It protects and respects the people’s economic, social, political and civil rights. It strengthens institutions of democracy and civic engagement. It upholds the right to self determination of all peoples and equal rights of the poor and the marginalized.

The Change Politics Movement will actively recruit new members, convene dialogues and discussions with candidates who are seen to embody change politics principles and agenda, hold deliberations among members and finally select the candidates that would be supported by the movement through text voting involving all CPM members.

Under the theme, “Baguhin ang Pulitika para sa Pulitika ng Pagbabago”, the Change Politics Movement will bring together citizens who desire to actively change politics so that the principles and practice of politics will bring positive change to governance and society as a whole.

A MOTHER'S LOVE

by unknown Author

A little boy came up to his mother in the kitchen one evening
while she was fixing supper, and handed her a piece of paper that he
had been writing on. After his Mom dried her hands on an apron, she
read it, and this is what it said:

For cutting the grass: $5.00
For cleaning up my room this week: $1.00
For going to the store for you: $.50
Baby-sitting my kid brother while you went shopping: $.25
Taking out the garbage: $1.00
For getting a good report card: $5.00
For cleaning up and raking the yard: $2.00
Total owed: $14.75

Well, his mother looked at him standing there, and the boy could
see the memories flashing through her mind. She picked up the pen,
turned over the paper he'd written on, and this is what she wrote:

For the nine months I carried you while you were growing inside me:
No Charge

For all the nights that I've sat up with you, doctored and prayed for you:
No Charge

For all the trying times, and all the tears that you've caused through the years:
No Charge

For all the nights that were filled with dread, and for the worries I knew were ahead:
No Charge

For the toys, food, clothes, and even wiping your nose:
No Charge

Son, when you add it up, the cost of my love is:
No Charge.

When the boy finished reading what his mother had written, there
were big tears in his eyes, and he looked straight at his mother and
said, "Mom, I sure do love you." And then he took the pen and in great
big letters he wrote: "PAID IN FULL".

Lessons:

* You will never know how much your parents worth till you become a parent
*Be a giver not an asker, especially with your parents. there is a lot to give, besides money.

* Advice: IF your mom is alive and close to you, give her a big
kiss and ask her for forgiveness. If she is far away, call her. if she
passed away, pray for her.

**Happy Mom's Day to all! Be proud..we have the best job in the world
(not to mention- toughest!)...tiring..but very rewarding...i wouldn't
trade my being a mom for anything...
