Chris, my colleague asked me to join him with our visitors from Taiwan for a trip to Damyang. Below are photos I took from the place. Damyang is famous for its Bamboo Park and see the products and other collaterals made from bamboo.

I think the Bamboo Festival will be in May, next month. If you can understand Korean - check out their website at - www.damyang.go.kr

There is English section but as usual it is not interactive and just info about the place.

Go and visit the place it is a beautiful nature park. On weekends I learned that performances are held for the public.

I didn't know that there is a Bamboo Park in Korea, well Bamboo is one of my favorate, a gentleman among the 4 kinds of Chinese Classic Paintings, namely: Orchid, Chrysanthemum, Plum and Bamboo. .. Hope someday I have the chance of visiting the Damyan Bamboo Park!

Pepero Day 2008

I went to the bookstore yesterday and found a rack dedicated to pepero, nice boxes of beautiful sweets, mostly chocolate coated sticks. Every November 11 is Pepero day. It is one of Korea's many unique special day, well a bit commercialize but anyway I consider it saying thank you to female colleagues by giving them box of pepero. Happy Birthday Buddha!

Well my blog is becoming a foto blog. I can't resist but capture the colors and scenes around after the dreary, snowless, and cold winter is a profusion of colors and the freshness of greens. This is the scene at the park now. Colorful lanterns adorn the pathway - to enlighten seekers of truth, maybe? Trees are full of flowers soon they will disappear.
